I. Title
A. Women in Iraq
B. My paper's going to be about Women that are currently fighting in Iraq.
II. Introduction
A. Women in the U.S. Army that are fighting in Iraq.
B. I'm going to focus on the stereotypes that women face in a prodominatly male atmosphere.
C. In my introduction paragraph, I want to say something about the history of women's rights, other than just the military.
III. Main Body
A. With 240 female U.S. soldiers injured and 33 killed so far in Iraq and Afganistan (as of March 20, 2005), some military analysts are calling for a review of U.S. policy on women in combat.
B. Are women stereotyped? Are they underestimated? How do men react when women come into thr Army?
IIII. Conclusion
A. Sum up the overall feeling of women in the U.S. Army and how they feel about being in the minority.

My research started out being difficult. I couldn't find very many sites that had any helpful information. However, I found a really good website last night that led me to lots of other good websites, so I think I'm going to be ok on my research. Hopefully, these will give me enough information. Now all I have to do is figure out how I can get the email address of a female soldier in Iraq. Then, I can use that as my primary source.
I like most of the information I am finding, but its hard to find things that don't have to do with the death tolls. Those are important to me, but I would like to find out more about the stereotypes that women face.
I think I need to find a little bit more information before I start writing. But, I'm almost there.

Women first began entering pilot training in 1976, fighter pilot training in July 1993 and navigator training in 1977 Currently there are 568 (4.1 percent) female pilots and 210 (4.6 percent) female navigators.

During World War I, factories for war preparations became a home-front business, in which women participated. Some suffragists were concerned about women's entry into war industries and saw the war as a contest between imperialist, male elites driven by notions of masculinized honor. Other suffragists contended that if women contributed to the war effort against Germany, they would prove that women deserved the right to vote.

My research paper is about women in Iraq. I'm pretty excited about beginning this project because this is truly a topic that I want to know more about. It seems like its going to be pretty interesting. I'm going to try to find out what it's like to be a women in the military, but more specifically about what its like to be a women fighting in Iraq in the war right now. I want to see if there is a big difference between how the men and women are treated. I think sometimes women are really sterotyped and I want to see if thats true. Ok, enough about that. It's Thursday, but pretty much it's a Friday because were going to see Romeo and Juilet tomorrow. 2 DAYS!!!!!! I'm really excited.
